Mark de Mos
Over the years Mark has worked in pen & ink, etching, watercolor, pastel and oil. He began working in pen and ink in high school,and over the years explored many media while studying with various local fine art arts. While in college he worked in etching, before moving into watercolor working such artists as Bob Sakson, and Ted Minchin et al.
Eventually gaining membership in the New Jersey (numerous awards), Garden State, North East and Delaware Watercolor Societies. He also became an elected member of the Allied Artists of America (on board, 2 awards), and Hudson Valley Art Association. Mark also has been included in four books, notably the Splash 8, Splash 9, and Watercolor Secrets and had a feature article in the magazine Watercolor Magic. He also showed with the Audubon Artists and the Salmagundi Clubs Non-Member Show (awards for a watercolor andpastel). He has been on the board of the NJWCS and is currently the president.He specializes in city scapes, and street scenes. He also studied pastel with Frank Zuccarelli, and was the founding president of the Pastel Society of New Jersey.
But in the last 10 years he took up oil, studying with Gary Godbee, In oil his favorite subject matter is nature based, but also does some cityscapes as well. He won Viewers Choice Award from the Mountain Art Show for an oil 5 years ago.
